Founded in 2024, we share Japanese taiko culture in Sweden through live performances, interactive workshops, and cultural collaborations.
We believe taiko is not just about sound or technique. It's about energy, presence, and connection — across generations, cultures, and communities.

太鼓 - Taiko
Taiko means "drum" in Japanese, but Japanese taiko drumming is much more than music. Rooted in centuries of Japanese festivals, rituals, and performing arts, taiko combines powerful rhythms, dynamic movement, and collective energy.
Unlike many other forms of percussion, taiko is a full-body experience. Every strike involves movement, focus, and physical expression, creating a powerful connection between performers and audiences.
Today, taiko is performed around the world, bringing people together through the shared energy and vibrant spirit of Japanese festivals (Matsuri).
At Stockholm Taiko, we bring this tradition to life in Sweden through performances, workshops, and cultural experiences.
